The short answer
You can usually keep your existing business email when your website changes. We need to check who supplies it and which domain settings deliver your messages before arranging the move.
How it works
Your website and inbox are separate
Your website and email can use the same domain while running with different providers. A new design does not automatically require moving your inbox, changing your email address or cancelling your current email subscription.
The domain settings that route email are often called MX records. Other records can help prove which systems may send on your behalf. We check the existing arrangement so a website launch does not accidentally remove settings that your email needs.
Before changing or cancelling anything
Tell us if the same supplier charges you for both hosting and email. Cancelling a combined package could close the inbox as well as the old website. Keep it active until the replacement arrangements have been checked with you.
An enquiry form is another part of the journey. We agree where new enquiries should arrive and check delivery before going live. That is separate from transferring old messages or setting up email software on your phone.
If you want to change email provider too, say so in your brief. We can agree the scope and timing separately. Do not paste inbox passwords or customer messages into the form. We will arrange suitable access securely if it is needed.
Your next step
What we need from you
The email address for enquiries, your email provider if known, and whether your current package combines website hosting and email.
